NEFCO is co-financing the construction of a 55 MW capacity solar plant in the Cherkasy region. This is the fourth solar power plant to be developed in Ukraine by the Norwegian solar power producer Scatec Solar.
NEFCO and the Finnish company Bladefence have signed a loan agreement related to the expansion of Bladefence’s operations in North America. Bladefence is specialised in preventive maintenance and repair services on wind turbine blades.
Trond Moe has started as NEFCO’s new Managing Director from 1 June 2019. He is the third Managing Director for the Corporation since its establishment in 1990.
Finland will allocate an additional EUR 1 million to the Arctic Council Project Support Instrument (PSI), which is managed by NEFCO, to support project financing for mitigating black carbon and other types of pollution in the Arctic region.
The Arctic region has attracted much global interest and is experiencing many of the most serious threats facing society and the environment. It is an area with a sparse population, of about four million, and a delicate eco-system where four major rivers drain large regions of Russia and Canada.
