Nefco has been a shareholder in Bank Lviv since 2022, further scaling green financing and reinforcing sustainable banking practices across the region. The intended sale to Crédit Agricole Ukraine marks the next step in Bank Lviv’s development and continued efforts to strengthen financial services in Western Ukraine.
Nefco and the other main shareholders in Bank Lviv have signed an agreement to sell their shares to Crédit Agricole Ukraine. For Bank Lviv, Crédit Agricole Ukraine’s intended acquisition marks the next step in its development and continued efforts to strengthen financial services in Western Ukraine.
The cooperation between Nefco and Bank Lviv began in 2008 through a series of successful on‑lending programmes that supported energy‑efficiency investments by the bank’s clients in Western Ukraine. In 2022, Nefco became a shareholder in Bank Lviv to further scale green financing and reinforce sustainable banking practices across the region.
“Over the years, we have cooperated closely with Bank Lviv to expand access to energy‑efficiency financing for households and SMEs, and to advance the bank’s environmental and social responsibility frameworks,” says Thor Thorsteinsson, VP Nordic SMEs at Nefco.
Through our partnership, Bank Lviv became one of the first banks in Western Ukraine to offer eco‑loans and implement several initiatives that support the green transition.
“We are pleased that our work to build strong foundations for sustainable development will continue under a long-standing and committed international banking group. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our fellow shareholders and the management of Bank Lviv for their outstanding cooperation during extremely challenging times in Ukraine, as well as our sales consultant FinPoint, whose work has been instrumental in this transaction,” adds Thorsteinsson.
The transaction is subject to standard regulatory approvals from the National Bank of Ukraine and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.
