The Nordic Cleantech Open presents the ten most promising cleantech start-ups in the Nordics. The companies are considered to be the best and most innovative within Nordic cleantech today. The companies have been selected through a thorough selection process, in which NEFCO has taken part.
The Nordic Cleantech Open presents the ten most promising cleantech start-ups in the Nordics today. The companies are: Arsizio, ATC Industrial Group/Scypho, BioCover, CrayoNano, Cyclicor, Disruptive Materials, Ecofective, Giamag Technologies, Optistring Technologies and Tamturbo.
These ten companies are considered to be the best and most innovative within Nordic cleantech today. The companies have been selected through a thorough selection process, in which NEFCO has taken part. NEFCO has especially been looking for technologies relevant to NEFCO’s mission to improve the environment in the Baltic Sea region.
“Nordic Clean Tech Open is a unique possibility for NEFCO to appraise the market to see what new technologies are on their way and which can be relevant for us,” says Ulf Bojö, Senior Investment Manager at NEFCO.
NEFCO will shortly launch a facility to help Nordic cleantech companies grow internationally. Through the new ‘Nordic Reference Fund’, financing for reference projects for Nordic companies in NEFCO’s countries of operations and in the other BRIC countries will be offered. The fund will invest in Nordic companies to enable implementation of the projects.
Nordic Cleantech Open is a competition that identifies, upgrades and highlights the 25 best cleantech start-ups in the Nordics every year. After meeting with the jury to further strengthen their cases, the top ten companies were selected. A total of 107 companies have taken part in this year’s competition.
The jury comprises more than 50 representatives from venture capital funds and industry, including leading Nordic energy and chemical companies, and actors within the building sector and the pulp and paper industry.
“The large number of industrial companies in the jury means great possibilities for the participating companies, not only to find investors but also to find future development partners and customers,” says Magnus Agerström, Managing Director, Nordic Cleantech Open.
The final event for the Nordic Cleantech Open competition where the winner and runners up will be chosen and announced will take place in Stockholm on Monday 19 May. The final is an official pre-event to Cleantech Group‘s 10th Annual Cleantech Forum Europe that will take place in Stockholm between 19 – 21 May.
