NEFCO is taking the stage at COP24

The 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is held 3 – 14 December in Katowice in Poland.

In connection to the Nordic Finance day on Tuesday 11 December NEFCO is arranging two events in Katowice at the Nordic pavilion.

Piloting Article 6 of the Paris Agreement – From concepts to action

NEFCO together with Finland, Norway and Sweden is looking into ways to jointly initiate piloting work on how to operationalize Article 6* of the Paris Agreement.

*The Paris Agreement offers the opportunity for countries to cooperate when implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions and use market-based [climate change] mitigation mechanisms under Article 6 of the Agreement.

Small steps can lead to giant leaps – Scaling up green investments in the energy field

How to switch to a low-carbon future and mitigate the climate impact by investing in innovative small- and medium-sized private and public green energy projects?
Cases from both the private and public sector, ranging from green energy solutions to renewable fuels, electric vehicles and energy-efficiency measures in buildings will be presented.

Mobilising Investments for Off-Grid Energy Solutions in African Countries

Representatives of the Governments of Zambia and Sweden and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEP) will based on present work in Zambia outline the planned expansion of the Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa, within the framework of Sweden’s general Energy Sector Development cooperation with countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
