Fourteen agreements signed under the Nordic Climate Facility

Solvatten is providing innovative household water treatment solutions.

The Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) has signed fourteen agreements for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects.

The facility, which is funded by the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) and jointly administered with NEFCO, provides grant financing for climate related projects in low-income countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The fourteen agreements were selected out of 138 proposals that were submitted in the 2009 NCF Call for proposals. The projects awarded are almost equally divided between mitigation and adaptation, representing partnerships between Nordic NGOs, consulting companies and equipment suppliers, and their local partners in 9 eligible countries.

The second call for proposals was launched in October 2010. The call, which is open until 14 January 2011, focuses on renewable energy and urban adaptation to climate change.

Financing can be granted to Nordic institutions, organizations, companies, and authorities which have established cooperation with a partner in low-income countries.
