NORDIC PAVILION

Operationalising high-integrity carbon markets: Nordic experience in practice

Date: 13 November 2026
Time: 16:00-16:45
Venue: Nordic Pavilion, Blue Zone, COP31 Antalya Conference Centre
Organiser: Nefco – the Nordic Green Bank (Contact: Anni Rein, anni.rein@nefco.int)

This session explores how carbon markets are moving from policy development to real-world implementation. As Article 6 frameworks take shape, the discussion will examine how governments, businesses and financial institutions can participate in high-integrity carbon markets that deliver measurable climate impact. Drawing on Nordic experience in climate cooperation and carbon finance, the session will highlight practical approaches to market-building, pilot transactions and public-private partnerships. Speakers will also discuss lessons from early implementation, private-sector engagement and how carbon markets can mobilise climate finance while maintaining environmental integrity and delivering verified emission reductions.
